Sheath: Locking Kydex, Aluminum, Stainless Steel,
with stainless fittings and screws
Knife: Another great knife in the series of
collaborative works by James Beauchamp and Jay Fisher. If you
haven't heard about James Beauchamp and his work with me in the
Enchanted Spirits Studio, please look over
his page. This fine
knife is an evolution of my Macha knife adapted for use and
carry in a locking sheath. The Macha Navigator has a thick, deeply hollow ground,
substantially aggressive blade with a half-length top swage to
reduce point profile and 2" of vampire rip teeth serrations for
tough cutting chores. The 440c steel type was chosen for high
corrosion resistance and is razor sharp. The blade is very thick and
strong, and has a fully
tapered tang with the balance point is at the fore finger. The 304 stainless steel bolsters are zero care and
fully cover the quillons for strength. The bolsters are
dovetailed and bed a pair of canvas reinforced micarta
phenolic scales pinned with six stainless steel pins.
The rear bolster has a 5/16 inch through-tang lanyard
hole for security. The handle is comfortable in either
traditional or reverse tactical grip.
Sheath: The perfectly fitting sheath is one of my combat grade,
waterproof, positively locking models, made from double thickness kydex,
1/4" thick welts of 5052H32 corrosion resistant aluminum, and
secured with solid stainless steel Chicago screws for ultimate
corrosion resistance. All the locking components are also stainless
steel, so this is a marine grade sheath suitable for immersion in
marine environments. The reversible aluminum belt
loops will accommodate a standard 1.75" military web utility belt,
and should hang on most belts or tactical gear.
This is a real tactical combat knife suitable for all
environments, highly corrosion resistant. This is, simply, one of
the best combat tactical knives and sheaths made.
